North Shore - Cape Ann Emergency Preparedness Coalition

Background

The North Shore - Cape Ann Emergency Preparedness Coalition was established in 2004, and is comprised of the Boards of Health and Health Departments from 15 communities in Essex County

Purpose

- Enhance the communities' collective capacity to share resources.
- Respond to public health threats and emergencies, which include terrorism and outbreaks of infectious diseases.

About

The NSCAEPC meets monthly to share information and discuss issues related to public health threats and emergencies. It is a sub-coalition within Region 3 of the MDPH Regional Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coalitions. They receive funding through a grant provided by the MDPH. (Massachusetts Department of Public Health)

The NSCAEPC has created this website, so that it can better serve all of the communities on the North Shore and Cape Ann. This website will provide valuable resouces to residents within these communities, including links to local, state and federal websites, a place for potential medical and non-medical professionals to volunteer their services in the event of an infectious disease emergency or other emergency situation, and information regarding emergency preparedness trainings and seminars.
