Summer ABC's of sun safety
Stay Away from the sun during the peak hours of 10 am and 4 pm, Block the sun with sunscreen, Cover up with hats, sunglasses, and a long-sleeved shirt, and Seek shade when outdoors.
No tan is a healthy tan! Dermatologists recommend using a sunblock with a minimum of SPF 15. If you or your child has fair skin, light colored eyes and hair, freckles, or spends a lot of time outdoors, consider using an SPF 30 or higher. The effects of a sunburn in childhood can lead to skin cancer later in life. Sunburn prevention needs to start early. The goal is not to scare people out of the sun, but to teach them how to enjoy the sun safely. Protect Beverly kids!
Slip ~ Slop ~ Slap!!
Remember - Slip! on a shirt, Slop! on some sunscreen and Slap! on a hat. You've only got one skin. Don't let a sunburn ruin your fun!
